Looking for a vacation spot that is unspoiled and environmentally friendly? Come to the original "green" vacation.
Ranching has always been green. But the T Cross has taken a few more steps in that direction, naturally:
- Upon reaching the ranch, most transportation is done "a horseback." There are no excessive greenhouse gases here!
- We have also always followed the principle of treading lightly in our wilderness, leaving no trace behind.
- The ranch raises its own beef to ensure a high standard of quality meat with no hormones and no steroids.
- As of 2008, the ranch is powered from a wind turbine, harnessing the wind and conserving energy.
The T Cross has been on a conservation easement since 1978 to ensure that this beautiful place always stays in its original setting. The ranch opened in 1918, first called the Hermitage. It was a hunting and fishing camp, later evolving into the guest ranch of today. The first 90 years of operation have been successful in preserving this natural wonder. We provide an opportunity for all to come and enjoy their public lands, while working toward another 90 years.
